Buildbot failures after migrating from Distribute to Setuptools

Hi,

There were a handful of build failures after migrating from Distribute to the new Setuptools. At least some of them occurred because packages that use the old Distribute bootstrap script distribute_setup.py need to be switched to the new Setuptools bootstrap script ez_setup.py.
