Jordan Hubbard leaves Apple: a new direction for Darwin and MacPorts?

AppleInsider is reporting that Jordan Hubbard has left Apple to join
iXsystems as the new CTO [1].

What impact do you think such departure could have on the BSD level
of OS X and on the future of the Darwin/MacPorts community?
