With the regexp change to portconfigure.tcl [1], is it possible we can conditionally use the -matchvar flag?

On 10.5 it doesn't work:
Can't map the URL 'file://.' to a port description file ("can't read "configure.compiler": bad option "-matchvar": must be -exact, -glob, -regexp, or --").
