Note that "A disappearing mentor has not happened to us" is not actually
true; in 2008 I had to take over a student after the mentor disappeared
(temporarily), and the student ended up failing the midterm evaluation.

I'm not sure if you want to mention this and say that we've learned from
the experience, or just remove the claim.
