Port deactivate boost hangs forever

Guys,

I am in a middle of upgrading boost, but the old version seems to be a die-hard:

--->  Cleaning boost
--->  Removing work directory for boost

Hangs forever here. I interrupted it, tried to deactivate and de-install manually, to no avail.

What am I supposed to do at this point?
