If you are installing MacPorts from source, you will also want to run `sudo xcodebuild -license`. Note that some ports will require a full Xcode installation, which is available for free on the Mac App Store.

Why remove the sentence "Note that some ports will require a full Xcode installation, which is available for free on the Mac App Store", which is still correct?

> +Under Yosemite, "Software Update" no longer exists, rather one uses the "App Store" and enters "xcode" into the search box at the top right of the screen to find the latest version of Xcode. Once Xcode has been downloaded ( it is free) and installed via this method, it will appear in your "Purchases" tab, and updates will be provided until the NEXT major relaese of OSX or Xcode when you will have to search for the current version again.

The Software Updates function was already moved into the App Store as of Mavericks. Installation and updates of Xcode are already covered by other documentation and needn't be repeated here, I think.

Why add "IMPORTANT - Do Not Skip this step" to this step? Singling out this step gives the erroneous impression that other steps are not important and can be skipped. All steps are important.
