I have been aware of gcc5 and gcc6, but I’ve never have gcc5 installed.

In response to your comment I installed gcc5 and started to take a look because I’ve never used it. I’ll make a transition to gcc5 if it compiles the ports I maintain.

I did a quick survey in science directory on the number of ports with default_variants
