If that's so, then the port should probably contain the line:

supported_archs x86_64 i386

Elsewhere I saw you say libvpx now requires darwin 10. If that's so, then an appropriate block should be added to the port to prevent installation attempts on earlier systems, and the darwin 8 block could also be removed.
