Hi,

I think this port is ready to launch, and has significant improvements over the existing 1.7 version currently in macports.

On updating it, I noticed the port build script uses an undefined python version during compilation, which they should fix someday, but I updated the build script code to run on all known versions of python from 10.4 to now.
