https fetch error on older (<10.9) OSX releases due to rejected protocol

Hi,
I just just been looking into a build failure on older OS in one set of python ports, pyXY-bleach, that is a dependency of a port I maintain.
It looks like the tarball server that is used on newer OS is (rightly) rejecting the connecting due to the outdated security protocol

Is there a recommended way around this ? I’m guessing this might be reasonably common now on these antiquated OSX released …
