Is there any chance that we could schedule one 30-(max 90) minute long
IRC meeting to finally settle this issue? At least from the
philosophical point of view; code itself should be much easier to
write once the decision is met.

(If we start at 15 UTC or later, we coud hopefully cover all timezones
from west USA to India, including even China in the evening.)

We've been (not)discussing this for nearly a few years by now. The
infrastructure (buildbot) is nearly in place, it's probably just about
"a few lines of code" (and well ... lots of bytes on our mirrors) that
set us apart from reaching the goal of supporting older machines.
