It should be possible, but it would be some work. You'd have to install
and run rev-upgrade on every dependent port each time any port is
updated, and if it finds broken files and the rebuild succeeds in fixing
them (i.e. a rev bump would fix the problem), you could commit a rev bump.

One complication is that we don't currently have a reliable way of
programmatically rev bumping ports (it gets tricky when there are
subports for one thing). Just notifying maintainers would still be a win
though.
