Reviewer/Tester needed for bugfix of "Java version not detected on macOS Big Sur"

At the beginning of this year I made an attempt to fix the broken JDK detection in the Java port group on Big Sur:

"Java version not detected on macOS Big Sur 11.0.1"

Unfortunately, until now, no one really did a thorough review or tested my fix. There was only one guy who said it doesn’t work for him but he did not give any details.

It would be great if someone running Big Sur could have a look at this, do a review or just run some tests so we can be confident that this solution works. I did thorough testing on my system but you never know how things behave in different system configurations.
