Updates of some GIS related ports

Thanks Renee for merging the pdal and saga PRs!

Ryan and Zhenfu, thanks for the pointers on the GDAL and QGIS PRs.
I have now given both extensive testing and updated them where needed.
I believe they are ready for merge.

It would **really** be great to get them through… !
