Too late, but there's code to kick to see what errors I've grown!

It was an interesting little exercise, relatively easy to implement by letting the archive unpack take place in a subport's destroot dir.

FWIW: one port where I also use this mechanism on Mac is my `port:acl` (https://github.com/RJVB/macstrop/blob/master/sysutils/acl/Portfile) because rsync should not detect and link against it.
