gtk3+quartz opens no windows, any suggestions?

In fact, the same thing happens after I tweaked the port some more to allow installing BOTH backends which requires only a few tiny modifications to the code
GTk is designed to support this, they only didn't test if for Quartz+X11 because they consider that one shouldn't use the X11 backend on Mac.

Traditional windows that allow the window manager to handle decoration do display. But those remain empty though the widgets appear to be there judging from cursor pointer changes.
