 The solution turns out to be to modify meld to rely on py25-gnome and
 py25-gtk

 The problem is that python is becoming increasingly integral into GNOME,
 so we have to force the entire GTK/GNOME python stack to a single python
 version, and when we did so, we missed meld's dependencies on py-gnome.
