I think you've found a set of ports that is very out of date. Not only do
ns-2, tclcl and otcl all use gcc-3.3, which as you say doesn't work for
Intel Macs, the versions are also out of date:
* ns-2 is at version "20050728" but the current version of the software
is 2.32 (released 2007-09-03).
* tclcl is at version 1.16 (released 2005-01-19) but the current version
is 1.19 (released 2007-03-10).
* otcl is at version 1.9 (released 2005-01-19) but the current version is
1.13 (released 2007-03-10).
All three ports have no maintainer and I see no other tickets for any of
these ports. All the ports should be updated, and a critical eye should be
cast on any weird things these ports do, as that may very well no longer
be necessary with the current versions of the software, of Mac OS X, of
Xcode, and of MacPorts.
