Comment:

 Apparently there's a problem upgrading libidl to 0.8.9_0 if some previous
 version is installed? I'm unable to reproduce the problem upgrading from
 0.8.8_0. So I would suggest employing this workaround:

 {{{
 sudo port selfupdate
 sudo port -f uninstall libidl
 sudo port install libidl
 }}}

 Done.
