 I agree, q 6.0 doesn't build for me either:

 q 7.9 is now available. 7.8 "is a recommended upgrade for anyone who is
 currently running Q 7.7" and "sports several important bugfixes". 7.9 "is
 a bugfix release". I will attempt to update the port.
