 I also tried compiling the dvdrtools trunk from the repository but didn't
 get very far because I couldn't figure out how to generate a usable
 configure script.

 So yesterday I sent an email to Bernhard Rosenkraenzer, the author of
 dvdrtools, to ask for help compiling it on Mac OS X.
