 On a clean install of MacPorts 1.6, in Mac OS 10.5.4, tiff fails to build
 correctly because it does not configure jpeg to build its libraries.

 To build jpeg with libraries, the following commands are needed
 {{{
 sudo ./configure --prefix=/opt/local --mandir=/opt/local/share/man
 --with-apple-opengl-framework --enable-shared --enable-static
 sudo make
 sudo make install
 }}}

 Notice the --enable-shared and --enable-static.  Without at least one of
 these options, no library will be created.
