Comment:

 While trying to build gd2 today, port is still returning gd2 2.0.35, and I
 am still seeing the error as above.  As stated above, "sudo port install
 autoconf automake libtool" fixes the problem.  Except autoconf 2.62_0 has
 its own dependency problems.  To build autoconf, one must first build
 gettext.
