 Maybe this is something that should be brought up to the perl 5.10
 maintainers? The addition of a perl equivalent to 'pythonselect' would be
 nice, and would guarantee a bin/perl binary. Or just a full transition to
 perl 5.10, since all of the new features are off by default.
