 I think 15 minutes is definitely more than enough time...what does
 {{{
 echo $DISPLAY
 }}}
 say?  If it looks like {{{/tmp/launch-3gPr9M/:0}}} then it should be okay,
 in which case, what happens if you first launch X11 then try the {{{import
 gtk}}}?
