 It works if I cd to /opt/local/lib :
 {{{
 Flapjack:lib james$ pwd
 /opt/local/lib
 Flapjack:lib james$ python -c 'import vtk'
 }}}

 but no combination of DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH, PYTHONPATH or PATH seems to
 replicate that behaviour
