Comment (by raimue at macports.org):

 This is basically true for all software build by MacPorts. Xcode defaults
 to i386 and ppc, if you did not request x86_64 or ppc64.

 Will other ports linking against python work if they are built 32-Bit?
 Will py25-* modules automatically build 64-Bit, too?
