 Thank you: gegl is now installed.

 I was expecting that using your instructions gegl should have been
 installed too. But a closer look at your instructions shows it was only
 built and not installed. Sorry that i did not see that the first time.

 It remains a bit unsatisfying not to know what caused the errors in the
 first place. It has something to do with the order in which the MacPorts
 are built. However, I am glad i now can continue installing gimp. Thank
 you for your time and support.
