 Obsolete configure arguments are a separate issue already filed in #14859.

 Then we would no longer be using MacPorts gd2 but instead the gd2 included
 with php5. If that's the only way to make it work, then we would also
 remove the dependency on gd2. This would effectively undo the changes that
 had been requested in #13988.
