 OK, thanks for the clarification. Maybe the guide should be rephrased to

 File dependencies are specifed in the form: <type>:<filename>:<port>.
 <filename> is relative to ${prefix}, except when <type> is bin. In this
 case, <filename> is searched in the PATH environment variable.
