 Looking a little closer at my Macports python installation, I saw it was
 confused (at best), with two versions of Python installed, and
 python_select pointing to the Apple supply Python.  After deleting
 python24, re-installing python25, and pointing python_select at
 'python25', the Mecurial 'convert' extension works.
