 What version of Mac OS X are you using? The code was originally developed
 for OS X 10.4 and slightly updated to work with 10.5, but the
 mBytesPerPacket field has already been in use since 10.4.

 I haven't ever used Herrie on OS X 10.3 or lower, but I'm willing to add
 support for it.
