The guide [http://guide.macports.org/#installing.x11 says]:
> Apple's X11 is preferred over the MacPorts X11 port, and ports with an
X11 dependency will be satisfied by Apple's X11 just as with the X11 port
There is no such thing as "the MacPorts X11 port". There are two ports in
MacPorts that provide the X Window system: XFree86 and xorg. Apple X11 is
preferred to both of those.
