 Uninstalling mplayer doesn't actually remove any of the files:

 When the update tries to activate, I get

 Error: Target org.macports.activate returned: Image error:
 /opt/local/bin/mencoder already exists and does not belong to a registered
 port.  Unable to activate port MPlayer.
 Error: Status 1 encountered during processing.
 }}}

 When I force-activate the update, all the files are still there:

 problem.

 Seen on OSX 10.4.11 and 10.5.2.
