 I had the same problem when I tried to install MacPorts 1.6.0.
 It seems to be caused (at least in my case) by the fact that the installer
 tries to make an
 rsync-connection. This might fail when you are using an HTTP-proxy.
 (Therefore I think the postflight
 script should be modified to take this into account).
 For me the installation worked fine, when I tried it from another location
 without an HTTP-proxy.
