 This bug will cause some `python` package installations to fail, such as
 trying to install the development version of setuptools itself: `sudo
 easy_install setuptools==dev06`. This is a known bug in `setuptools
 0.6c8`, and gives a traceback ending in the lines

     log.warn("unrecognized .svn/entries format in %s", dirname)
 NameError: global name 'log' is not defined
 }}}

 The attached patch applies fixes that are in the current development
 version of `setuptools`.
