 Well, in the time since the last comment, we've tracked down
 [http://trac.macports.org/wiki/LeopardProblems#environmentvariablesbecomeblankbetweenconfigureandbuildphases
 the cause] of the flakiness on Leopard (and worked around it in trunk),
 and there's even been a new XCode release. Time to give this another try?
