Comment:

 The error is:

 {{{
 --->  Checksumming libxml2-2.6.32.tar.gz
 Error: Target org.macports.checksum returned: Could not open file:
 /opt/local/var/macports/distfiles/libxml2/libxml2-2.6.32.tar.gz
 }}}

 So for some reason it cannot read the downloaded file. Not sure why. Try
 deleting it and downloading it again:

 {{{
 sudo port clean --all libxml2
 sudo port install libxml2
 }}}

 Does that work?
