Comment (by ryandesign at macports.org):

 "`sudo port load ${port}`" is a shortcut for "`sudo launchctl load -w
 /Library/LaunchDaemons/org.macports.${port}.plist`". Similarly for "`sudo
 port unload ${port}`". Added in r31500.
