 Unfortunately vtk 5.0.4 for mac seems to be quite buggy.  E.g. the cocoa
 interface does not play well with keyboard inputs, and it takes all sorts
 of trickery to get the package to compile.  I thus made up ports that
 install vtk5 version 5.3 from cvs.  They work for me and seem to fix a lot
 of the issues that I've been having.  I also removed python wrappers as a
 variant and added it in as a standard compile as many popular packages
 depend on this being present (e.g. enthought tool suite, Mayavi, paraview,
 ... ).  Finally, since the data files are only needed to run the examples,
 I split that off into a separate package since most people likely do not
 need to install this.

 I wasn't sure what version to name the package, I think others have named
 it version 5.1 to denote that it was the CVS version and not the release.
