Comment (by clarke at mis.mpg.de):

 The problem seems to be with fusefs not installing properly.  It builds
 fine and doesn't throw an error when installing, but the header files are
 not moved from destroot to /opt/local/include.  Copying them over manually
 fixed my problem.
