 I've installed latest X-code for OSX 10.4, latest python and mac ports.
 When I try to install mercurial through terminal, it works until:

 --->  Configuring expat

 --->  Staging expat into destroot
 --->  Installing expat 2.0.1_0
 --->  Activating expat 2.0.1_0
 --->  Cleaning expat
 --->  Fetching libiconv

 --->  Extracting libiconv
 --->  Applying patches to libiconv
 --->  Configuring libiconv

 --->  Installing libiconv 1.12_0+darwin_8
 --->  Activating libiconv 1.12_0+darwin_8
 --->  Cleaning libiconv
 --->  Fetching ncursesw

 http://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/ncurses

 --->  Extracting ncursesw

 --->  Staging gettext into destroot
 --->  Installing gettext 0.17_3
 --->  Activating gettext 0.17_3
 --->  Cleaning gettext
 --->  Fetching python24
 --->  Attempting to fetch Python-2.4.5.tgz from
 http://www.python.org/ftp/python/2.4.5/
 --->  Verifying checksum(s) for python24
 Error: Target org.macports.checksum returned: Could not open file:
 /opt/local/var/macports/distfiles/python24/Python-2.4.5.tgz
 Error: The following dependencies failed to build: python24
 Error: Status 1 encountered during processing.


 When I try again "install mercurial, it jumps directly to
 --->  Verifying checksum(s) for python24
 Error: Target org.macports.checksum returned: Could not open file:
 /opt/local/var/macports/distfiles/python24/Python-2.4.5.tgz
 Error: The following dependencies failed to build: python24
 Error: Status 1 encountered during processing.


 This is the first I try to install a Version control (python, mercurial,
 Mac ports and X-code. Thank you for your help
