 Rsync is sometimes run as a daemon. I used it to provide the port tree and
 base on an internal server behind a firewall.
 There are a few loose ends.

 * a sample conf file
 * creating ${prefix}/var/log and ${prefix}/var/run to host log and pid
 files, respectively.
