 I have found the problem and created a fix for this. The patch file
 {{{patch-libgc-darwin_stop_world.c.diff}}} needs to have more changes in
 it. I'm attaching a new one. Until this gets accepted into the tree, you
 can use it on a temporary basis by copying it into
 {{{/opt/local/var/macports/sources/rsync.macports.org/release/ports/devel/mono/files/}}},
 overwriting the previous one.
