Comment:

 This has been fixed. You need to make sure your libedit port is version
 20080712-2.11 (or later), then rebuild ghc.  The previous libedit port was
 not detected by ghc's configure process, so ghc's libedit support was not
 built.  This problem is not the same as ghc bug 2606 mentioned by axman6
 above.
