Comment:

 Where are we with this? Are you still experiencing the issue with current
 versions of these ports? pango should be building pangocairo if cairo is
 present, which it should always be since cairo is a dependency of pango.
 With cairo 1.8.4 and pango 1.22.3, do you now have the pangocairo library?
 Does gtkglext build?
