 I hardly think this type of thing qualifies as an upstream bug. The
 autotools infrastructure just isn't set up to handle multiple-arch
 building (understandably, since that's only Mac OS X). It's pretty easy to
 work around, see r42691 for a simple example of how to correct configure's
 output after the fact.
