 The patch link at the linked blog seems to be broken.

 I went and created my own patch (aginst 2.6, but I believe it applies
 cleanly to 2.5.2) from the Apple distribution and submitted it to Python.
 Right now it's flawed in that the Makefile assumes you have dtrace
 support, I'm hoping someone with more knowledge in that area can fix it.
