 Actually nothing looks wrong. You are experiencing a bug in the installer.
 Please see the following
 [http://trac.macports.org/wiki/ProblemHotlist#a.profilenotsetup wiki page]
 about it. Here's the short version. In terminal run:

 curl -O
 http://svn.macports.org/repository/macports/branches/release_1_6/base/portmgr/dmg/postflight
 && bash postflight
 }}}

 Then open a new terminal window and the port command should be recognized.
