Comment:

 Closing this ticket as satisfying the original request for no default
 dependency by the removal of the default variant requiring SBCL.

 I *do* try to keep SLIME somewhat current but yet stable.  Personally, I
 track the CVS HEAD locally in a Mercurial repos, updating the MacPorts
 when a version seems particularly stable.
